Machine Operator (97981)

The sewing machine operator position in Mocksville, NC is responsible for ensuring all materials and auxiliary supplies are available before beginning work, starting sewing machinery at the beginning of a shift and test it for proper functionality, drawing threads through needles and adjusting machine functions to meet requirements of the sewing project, positioning materials under needles to sew them together or make patterns, replacing and rethreading needles for a subsequent project, observing operations to detect any faults or defects in stitching, ensuring that the finished product conforms to the design and merchandising instructions provided in the work order, performing general and preventative maintenance tasks on sewing machines to ensure longevity, and examining finished material for compliance and ensure that the that appropriate tags are sewed on to them. This is a full time, 2nd shift position. You will provide in-depth knowledge of sewing machines and the garments industry. You will also adjust machine controls and regulate stitching speeds for every sewing project that you will work on. If you have great sound and hand-eye coordination and you are able to cope with moderate physical effort, this may be the job for you!
Qualifications:
- 6 months to 1 Year of Sewing Machine/ Yarn Machine Experience.
- Knowledge of sewing machines and tools including designs, uses, and maintenance.
- Ability to watch gauge, dials and other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on sewing machine as needed.
- Ability to keep the hand and arm steady while making an arm movement or while holding the arm and hand in one position.
- Ability to see details of objects at a close range.
Hours:
- Full Time
- 1st Shift: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, (Monday - Thursday) 7:00 am - 1:00 pm, (Friday)
Benefits:
- Starting pay of $10.50 hourly, commensurate with experience.
